About me

Introductions are probably best kept to a minimum, so in a nutshell my name is Jason Day.  I’m a film studies graduate and film commentator/critic by heart.

Since December 2014 I have been gainfully employed as the film critic for the arts and entertainment website Total MK.

I will post regular updates about the film’s being screened, movie news and general reviews.

About the reviews

The anthropologist Hortense Powdermaker once noted “South Sea natives who have been exposed to American movies classify them into two types kiss-kiss and bang-bang’.

I think we can be a little more exact than that. Film genre can be a topic that invites argument, so for the sake of argument I’ve categorised them as:

I have also categorised films with a star rating, for ease of use if nothing else. They act as a marker as to how good or bad I feel a film is, but do read the full reviews and feel free to comment on them…
