The big film release of next week is this DC Comics big-screen transfer (on general release on Wednesday). Photos of Jared Leto as The Joker have snared newspaper space. The Joker is but one of a number of villainous characters who are released from prison by a shadowy US government agency to execute black ops in return for clemency. The trailer on the official site gives you a sneaky peak at a riotous actioneer that will be showing all over the UK.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip
If you loved the first three big screen versions of the popular children’s cartoon from the 80’s, then you are in for a treat this weekend. Through a series of misunderstandings, chipmunk pop sensations Alvin, Simon and Theodore believe that their ‘father’ Dave (Jason Lee) is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami…and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother. The Boy Next Door
J-Lo is a married teacher who has an affair with one of her students. Good choice you might add when he happens to be the lovely Ryan Guzman. As this is Hollywood, Guzman is also a sociopath who becomes obsessed with her. Released all across the UK, the official website is here.
